On Friday March 22nd, Specialized Care Coordinator Cheyenne LoRusso, Clinical Consultant Jose Rodriguez and Director of Care Management Crystal Wytenus hosted a luncheon for important representatives in Bergen County. This luncheon was to showcase the long-awaited Specialized Care Coordinator initiative, explain updated details about the position and provide a forum for everyone to ask questions.
Within the luncheon, there were speeches made by Executive Director Dean Pastras, Clinical Consultant Jose Rodriguez and a presentation done by the SCC Cheyenne LoRusso about the initiative, referral process and an overview of what problematic sexual behavior is. Some of the attendees included Area Director Kristen Pinho, members from DCP&P, Bergen County Prosecutors Office, Care Plus NJ and PSB specific providers Audrey Hepburn’s Children’s House and Center for Evaluation and Counseling.
The luncheon was a successful way for all of these organizations to come together to celebrate and learn about the new position. This position aims to focus on changing the stigma of child-on-child sexual abuse, as well as making the repercussions more treatment based instead of punitive.
