On April 24th, Bergen's Promise was proud to be represented at A Walk to Remember: Addiction Awareness and Recovery (Alumni in Recovery). This is a way to show solidarity for those in the recovery process.
A special thanks goes to the Co-Chairs of our SUAT Committee (Substance Use Awareness Team) Meghan and Laura for being the brains behind this operation as well as Jonathan, Jessica L, Shelda, Maritza and Anathia for Representing BP and coming out for this awesome event. We learned a lot, met new people and most importantly got to speak to the community and hear a little about their walks of life, their struggles and their recovery stories. It was sad, uplifting, fun and informative all at once.
The afternoon events will included: speeches by prominent community leaders, a tribute to first responders led by the Bergen County Prosecutor; keynote by Former Governor, Jim McGreevy and will feature The Black Poster Project and interactive resource displays.
We attended this event along side the Black Poster Project, an Alumni in recovery sponsored awareness group.

If you are a family in recovery, we hope that you will join us for future events raising awareness and supporting recovery!
